Dr. Judd
DVM & Founder

Dr. Robert Judd graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas A&M with a Bachelor’s in Veterinary Science in 1978 and received his DVM in 1979. He then opened Judd Veterinary Clinic in November of 1980 as a mixed animal practice. After years of hard work and additional testing, Dr. Judd become Board Certified by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in Equine in 1998 and Canine/Feline in 2003. He continues to maintain these credentials and is the only board-certified veterinarian within a 50-mile radius of Waco in any category and the only veterinarian in the nation that is board certified by ABVP in both equine and canine/feline medicine. He is involved in multiple organizations, including Fuzzy Friends Rescue Board of Directors, Kiwanis Club, and has a radio program (Texas Vet News) on Texas Farm Bureaus Radio Network. Dr. Judd enjoys driving his 1965 Corvette, playing golf, and boot scooting at the local dance hall on Saturday nights.

Dr. Prescher
DVM

Dr. Prescher joined the Judd Vet Clinic team in May 2019 as a part time doctor. He has over 40 years of experience from his own mixed animal practice in Whitney, TX which he sold and retired from. He decided retirement was not all it is cracked up to be and has since joined our team 2 day a week and when Dr. Judd is out of the office. He enjoys watching his grandchildren play sports as well as farming and ranching.

Dr. Buckley
Dr. Platten
DVM

Dr. Platten grew up in the suburbs of Dallas, Texas, and from a young age found her happy place at a barn surrounded by horses. She proudly admits she was that “crazy horse girl” everyone knows (and loves), and her passion for animals only grew stronger from there. She always knew she wanted to become a veterinarian and went on to pursue that dream wholeheartedly!
She earned her undergraduate degree in Animal Science from Auburn University in 2016 before returning to Texas to complete veterinary school at Texas A&M University in 2020. Since then, Dr. Platten has developed a strong passion for integrative medicine, becoming a certified veterinary acupuncturist for both small animals and equine patients in 2023. She also has a special interest in herbal and food therapies and is deeply committed to wellness and preventative care, helping pet parents keep their animals happy and healthy for as long as possible. Supporting and strengthening the human-animal bond is one of the most rewarding parts of her work.

At home, Dr. Platten is a proud treat dispenser to four dogs: Bunny, a Pitbull/Lab mix, and three Australian Shepherds—Samford, Langdon, and Rooster. Outside of the clinic, you can usually find her in the saddle or out exploring with her canine companions.
